General Availability: Passenger 4 (with Nginx 1.4.4)

We're happy to announce the general availability of Passenger 4 (with Nginx 1.4.4). When you select Passenger 4 as your application server stack for your environment, you automatically get Nginx 1.4.4. This Nginx version contains the SPDY and PageSpeed options.
Note:Passenger 4 is only available on the Engine Yard Gentoo 12.11 Technology Stack (stable-v4).
General Availability: Termination Protection

We're excited to announce the general availability of the termination protection feature. When you enable the termination protection feature, Engine Yard will ask users to re-enter their passwords before terminating the instances or environments. This extra step helps to ensure that users do not mistakenly terminate instances or environments.

General Availability: PostgreSQL 9.3

Action: You need to upgrade to the December 13th, 2013 (or later) Engine Yard stack release to activate this feature and you should read the Important Notes below.
We're excited to announce the general availability of PostgreSQL 9.3, the default database, which includes new materialized views, auto-updatable simple views, new JSON data type features (e.g., operators and functions), event triggers, and more exciting features.
Important Notes:
- You must upgrade to the December 13th, 2013 (or later) Engine Yard stack release to activate this feature in the UI.
- In order for any new database version to take effect, you must reboot your database server.
- For more information on database upgrades, see Database Version Upgrade Policies. If you need help, contact Engine Yard Professional Services.
- We recommend testing in a staging environment before applying changes in a production environment.

Early Access: ext4 Linux File System

We are happy to announce the availability of this early access feature: ext4 Linux File System. This feature provides you the option of having the /data and /db volumes formatted with ext4 instead of ext3.
