Minor: Engine Yard Gentoo 2016 stack upgrade
Action: You apply the following changes the next time you click the Upgrade button for your Engine Yard Gentoo 2016 environment.
Note: For clarity, since we now have 2 Gentoo stacks, we refer to this stack as the Engine Yard Gentoo 2016 stack. You can access it by using the Stack select field in the Environment UI:
It's best practice to upgrade your Engine Yard Gentoo 2016 (stable-v5) stack regularly for the latest security and product updates. This week's updates:
- Added a mysqldump configuration option to improve the reliability of logical backups on MySQL 5.6.21
- Added Percona-Server 5.6.32 and 5.7.14 to address CVE-2016-6662 and CVE-2016-6663. See our Upgrade Procedures for additional details about applying this update.
- This release allows Nodejs versions to be selected for Nodejs, Ruby, PHP Environments and ensures that the "nodejs_version" metadata on a per environment basis for Stable V5. When upgrading please have support enable the
Non-Ruby Version Selection Feature
to your account. - Updated nodejs available versions to only list valid eselectable targets and updates available versions.
- This update allows EFS to be mounted automatically by the cookbooks.

Minor: Engine Yard Gentoo 12.11 stack upgrade

Upgraded Ruby 2.1.x to 2.1.10 on instances using OpenSSL 1.0.1 (default).
Note: currently running Ruby processes will continue to run on the existing version of ruby. To update these processes, redeploy your app, and restart any background ruby processes. If using passenger, run
/etc/init.d/nginx upgrade
on each app instance to restart passenger and its workers on the new version. - Added a mysqldump configuration option to improve the reliability of logical backups on MySQL 5.6.21+
- Added functionality for future support of Database Services architecture.
- Updated Postgres configuration to use /mnt partition for temporary files instead of Postgres data directory.
