Engine Yard Release Notes for January 16th, 2016
Hotfix: Engine Yard Gentoo 2009 stack upgrade
Action: We recommend you test this hotfix in your staging environment as soon as possible; then, when that is validated, click the Upgrade button for your production environment.
Note: For clarity, since we now have 2 Gentoo stacks, we refer to this stack as the "Engine Yard Gentoo 2009" stack. You can access it by using the Stack select field in the Environment UI:
It's best practice to upgrade your Engine Yard Gentoo 2009 (stable-v2) stack regularly for the latest security and product updates. This week's updates:
- Adds Node Health Check URL to your Applications. If set, this URL will be checked to determine if your application is responsive on each instance before sending traffic to that instance. You can edit your existing applications to add this ability -- click the (?) beside the Node Health Check URL in the New or Edit Application page for more information.
- NOTE:
- This only works with http endpoints - https endpoints are not supported. Please ensure your app does not force https protocol for that health check endpoint.
- In the case of a multi-app environment, only one app will be checked for connectivity. It is recommended that if you have multiple apps, you either select the most important app, or have your health check endpoint on one app check that your other apps are also up.
