  • Fixes issues with SSL on solo instances, related to this known issue.
  • Fixes issue with Chef 10 in stable-v3, which caused gem_package installs to end up in Resin rather than system Ruby. (Limited Access release.)

We are excited to announce the Early Access release of Engine Yard Gentoo 12.11. This update includes a rebase off Hardened Gentoo, which provides a more secure stack for your application environments.

We encourage you to try Engine Yard Gentoo 12.11 the next time you need to spin up a new environment. An important consideration when you create and test an Engine Yard Gentoo 12.11 environment is to verify the version numbers for all stack components; be sure and check out the Engine Yard Gentoo 12.11 Early Access Tech Stack for details.

  • Updates Ruby 1.9.3 to patch level p392.
  • Fixes issue with updating package manager encountered by customers using stunnel.
  • Adds Riak support for ext4 file system and backups. (Early Access release.)
  • Fixes SSL/non-SSL detection issues with ELB. (Early Access release.)

Minor: Engine Yard Cloud stack upgrade

  • Improves the purging of database binary logs. See MySQL Tools Reference for more information.
  • Ensures Unicorn is available (bundled directly or indirectly) when Unicorn is the selected app server type.
  • Enables private Riak Enterprise installation.
  • Fixes issue with PGP key encryption, without providing a key, no longer blocks database backups (in other words, backups are done without encryption in this case). (Limited Access release.)
  • Fixes issue with collectd graphs. (Hotfix.)
